No. 19 USC Women's Soccer Falls to Utah Valley, 3-2

LOS ANGELES – The No. 19 USC women's soccer team dropped its home game on Thursday afternoon, falling to Utah Valley 3-2.
The Trojans made a comeback attempt, scoring a pair of late goals, but were unable to erase a 3-0 deficit. USC falls to 3-2 on the season, while Utah Valley moves to 3-3-1 overall.
Faith Webber posted a hat trick for the visitors, scoring once in the first half and twice in the second.
USC's first goal came from Florianne Jourde in the 62nd minute. Maribel Flores finished a cross from Kayla Colbert in the 78th minute to make it a one-goal game.
The Trojans pressed all the way to the whistle, but were unable to come up with the equalizer. USC outshot the Wolverines 10-5 in the second half and 13-10 for the game. The Trojans also had a 6-3 corner kick advantage.
GOALS
12' – UVU: Faith Webber (unassisted) – Utah Valley was awarded a PK after a handball by USC in the area. Webber took the kick and it was initially saved by the Trojans' Hannah Poulter, but Webber followed her shot and punched home the rebound.
52' – UVU: Faith Webber (unassisted) – Webber stole a back pass, took a touch around the keeper and scored.
61' – UVU: Faith Webber (assisted by Heather Stainbrook) – Stainbrook sent a free kick into the area and Webber volleyed it in over the keeper.
62' – USC: Florianne Jourde (assisted by Zoe Burns, Helena Sampaio) – Sampaio slid a pass into the area for Burns, and Burns sent a quick pass to the middle for Jourde, who fired it inside the left post.
78' – USC: Maribel Flores (assisted by Kayla Colbert) – Colbert dribbled into the 18-yard box from the left and sent a pass across the face of goal where Flores volleyed it in with her left foot.
