USC’s Strong Day At The Razorback Invitational Highlighted By Jones’ School Record In The Pentathlon

Allie Jones posts 10th highest NCAA pentathlon score all-time
Allie Jones set the USC record in winning the pentathlon and Elias Gerald moved into USC's indoor top 10 in the high jump at the Razorback Invitational held at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. today (Jan. 26).
- Allie Jones set the school pentathlon record with 4528 points in winning three of the five events during the competition. Her point total of 4528 ranks 10th all-time on the NCAA pentathlon list. Jones won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.20 to earn 1084 points, then tied for eighth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-6.50/1.69m to earn 842 points. Jones then had a PR of nearly two feet in the shot put to win the event with a best mark of 43-3.00/13.18m, which is just outside of USC's all-time top 10 in the event. She earned 739 points in the shot put. She then placed third in the long jump with a PR of 20-5.75/6.24m to move from ninth to seventh on USC's all-time indoor long jump list. She earned 924 points in the long jump. Jones closed out the event by winning the 800m with a time of 2:11.74, a PR of more than three seconds. She earned 939 points in the 800m to finish with the school record of 4528. Jones' previous best set last season of 4440 was four off the previous USC record of 4444 set by Amalie Iuel in 2015.
- Elias Gerald placed third in the men's high jump with an indoor personal-best clearance of 7-1.50/2.17m. That clearance moved him to tied for fifth on USC's all-time indoor high jump list. Dallas Wise cleared a PR of 6-9.50/2.07m to tie for 10th.
- Max Thomas placed seventh in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.03. Bryce Brock had an indoor PR of 21.21 to place ninth in the event.
- Madison Whyte placed eighth in the women's 200m with a time of 23.14. Her time moved her to 10th on USC's all-time indoor list, bumping teammate Jassani Carter (23.15 run last week) to 11th on the list.
- Morgan Fierro had a 3000m PR of 8:16.47 to place 10th in the event. His time was nearly a 12-second PR and bettered his second-place standing on USC's all-time list in the event.
