Shoemaker Leads No. 4 USC Into a Tie for the Top Spot at the Pac-12 Preview After Round One

After one round, the Women of Troy are in a tie for first place with Arizona at ten-under-par
THE BIG ISLAND, Hawaii -Â Freshman Bailey Shoemaker posted the best score of the day with a 67, as No. 4 USC is tied for the lead at ten-under-par at the Pac-12 Preview after the first round on Monday, Feb. 19, at the Nanea Golf Club.Â

The Women of Troy combined for a ten-under-par effort as they tied Arizona for the lead after round one. USC posted two players in the top ten individually as Shoemaker took the initial lead in the tournament, while junior Amari Avery is tied for seventh place at three-under-par (70).Â

Shoemaker played a near-perfect round, as she went bogey-less in the first round and posted three birdies on both the front and back nine. On the other side, Avery had only two bogies (one on the front and one in the back) and paired it with five birdies. The junior was two-under-par on the front side and one-under-par on the back nine.Â

The remaining two remaining players that hosted counting scores were seniors Brianna Navarrosa and Christine Wang. Navarrosa is tied for 16th at one=under-par (72), and Wang is tied for 20th as she is even (73) for the day.Â

Sophomore Catherine Park closes out the starting lineup for the Women of Troy, as she is tied for 32nd at two-over-par (75).
