No. 6 USC Women's Golf Stays the Course As it is Tied for Tenth After Two Rounds

Freshman Bailey Shoemaker continues to be a difference maker, as she is tied for 13th place after day two
PHOENIX -Â Senior Christine Wang moved up from tied for 40th to tied for 17th on day two, as No. 6 USC is currently in a tie for 10th place after the second day at the PING/ASU Invitational at the Papago Golf Course.Â

The Women of Troy combined to be one of six teams to put together an under-par-outing in round two, as they went one-under-par for the day. USC is now two-over-par for the tournament and is tied with Oregon in tenth place. UCLA leads the tournament at seven-under-par.Â

Through the first two days, freshman Bailey Shoemaker leads the Trojans as she is tied for 13th place. Shoemaker posted back-to-back 71s in Phoenix as she is two-under-par after 36 holes. Senior Christine Wang is not far behind after she was two-under-par today as she shot a 70 after shooting a 73 on the first day. Wang had one blemish on the day, as she double-bogeyed No. 2, but was perfect outside of that as she had four birdies and no other bogeys in the round.Â
Sophomore Catherine Park, like Shoemaker, also posted a 71 in the afternoon. Park had an up-and-down day two with five birdies and four bogeys in the round. Park is currently tied for 21st, as she is sitting Even after two rounds.Â
Senior Brianna Navarrosa posted a 75 (+3) and is now five-over-par for the tournament. Navarrosa is currently tied for 63rd. Junior Xin (Cindy) Kou is the final Trojan on the leaderboard, as she is ten over par after two rounds.Â

USC heads into the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow at the Papago Golf Course in Phoenix.
