USC Women's Golf Sits Third Heading into Final Round at Juli Inkster

Catherine Park leads the Trojans, as she is fourth in the field at five-under-par
FAIRFAX, Calif. - No. 8 USC women's golf finished the first two rounds at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitation in third place. Sophomore Catherine Park leads the Trojans as she is fourth in the field at three under par after day one on Monday, Mar. 4, at the Meadow Club.
USC as a squad comes into today with only one other stroke-play tournament under its belt for the spring season. After finishing fourth at the Pac-12 Preview, the Trojans sit seven strokes back of the lead (Stanford) at six-under-par.
Park posted the lowest score in the second round for USC, as she posted a 69 (-3) after getting a 70 (-2) in the first round. The sophomore is three shots back of the lead heading into the final round tomorrow.
Junior Amari Avery carries the second-place slot for the Trojans in a tie for eighth, as she did a combination of back-to-back 71s (-1). In the second round, she had a lot of ups and downs, as she had six birdies, three bogeys, and one double-bogey.
Freshman Bailey Shoemaker and senior Brianna Navarrosa sit in a tie for 20th. Shoemaker carried USC in round one with a 69 (-3) but fell back in the second round with a three-over-par outing. Navarrosa was a different story by posting an Even round in round one and a one-over-par round two.
Rounding out of the group is senior Christine Wang, as she is tied for 27th in the field. Wang posted a combo 71-76 first two rounds, as she is three-over-par for the tournament.
The Trojans return to the tee for the final round of action at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
