USC Men Tie For 7th And Women Tie For 8th At 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Jasmine Jones wins the 60m hurdles title and betters her school record in the event
Jasmine Jones won the women's 60m hurdles title, Johnny Brackins Jr. placed second in the men's 60m hurdles and the women's 4x400m took second during the final day of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships being held at the TRACK at new balance in Boston, Mass. today (March 9). The USC women's team scored 27 points to tie for eighth and the men's team scored 23 points to tie for seventh. Twelve different Trojans earned first-Team All-America honors.
The men's team had its highest finish since placing second at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships with a team featuring Rai Benjamin and Michael Norman. The men's team finish was tops among current Pac-12 foes and future Big Ten conference foes. The women's team had its highest team finish since placing fourth at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships.

- Jasmine Jones won the women's NCAA 60m hurdles title and broke her school record with a time of 7.77. Jones had previously set the USC record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.78 at the USA T&F Indoor Championships where she placed second on Feb. 16. Jones earned USC 10 points for the win.
- Johnny Brackins Jr. placed second in the men's 60m hurdles final with a time of 7.57. The winner, Caleb Dean of Texas Tech, won with a time of 7.56. Brackins Jr. earned USC 8 points in the team competition. He also earned USC 5 points yesterday by taking fourth in the men's long jump.
- The women's 4x400m relay team of Jan'Taijah Jones, Jasmine Jones, Yemi John and Madison Whyte won its heat and placed second overall to earn eight points with a time of 3:27.62. That time moved the quartet to fourth on USC's all-time list.
- Travis Williams placed fifth in the men's 60m final with a time of 6.64. He earned the men's team another 4 points.
- William Jones placed fifth in the men's 400m final with a time of 45.78. He earned the USC men's team 4 more points.
- Yemi John placed sixth in the women's 400m race with a time of 51.97. She earned USC's women three more points.
- The men's 4x400m relay team of Justin Braun, Johnnie Blockburger, Jacob Andrews and William Jones placed seventh with a time of 3:04.67 to earn USC its last 2 points of the meet.
- Temi Ojora placed eighth in the women's triple jump with a best leap today of 43-9.25 (13.34m) which came in the fifth round. She earned USC one point in the team competition.
