London Wijay led the Trojans with 12 kills in a sweep of Oregon
LOS ANGELES – The 22nd-ranked USC women's volleyball team (11-4, 2-3 Big Ten) collected a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) of Oregon (11-4, 2-3) at Galen Center on Thursday, Oct. 9.

- RS So. OH London Wijay led the team with 16.0 points earned on 12 kills (4e, 31att) with .258 hitting, four blocks, and two service aces. She also had three digs in her ninth match in double-digit kills.
- So. MB Mia Tvrdy had nine kills (2e, 18att, .389) to go with five blocks for 11.5 points.
- Fr. S Reese Messer put up 31 assists and had three digs, two blocks, and a kill.
- Fr. LIB Taylor Deckert collected seven digs with three assists and two service aces.
- RS So. MB Leah Ford racked up eight kills on 12 swings without an error to register a .667 hitting rate. She also had two blocks, three digs and served a pair of aces.
- Sr. DS Dani Thomas-Nathan started the match and had several extended service runs which included four aces.
- Sr. DS Gala Trubint had three digs to reach 1,311 career digs to move into a tie for 10th all-time in school history.
- For the Ducks, Alanah Clemente led the way with 13 kills and had seven digs. Valentina Vaulet had 11 kills and two blocks. Cora Taylor had 26 assists and nine digs.
- The Trojans rolled to a 25-18 win in the opening set with five kills from Wijay and four apiece from Ford and Tvrdy. Thomas-Nathan had a pair of her aces in the first set and Messer dished out 12 assists as the Trojans hit .294 with 15 kills (5e, 34att) to outpace the Ducks' .222 hitting (11k, 5e, 27att). Oregon used a 5-0 run to take a momentary lead, 12-10, but the Trojans responded with a 5-0 run of their own and would blow the set open with a 12-2 run for a 22-14 lead.
- Set two was an 11-tie situation but the Trojans prevailed for a 25-21 win and a 2-0 lead in the match. After nine ties, the Ducks broke away to lead by three, 12-9, but USC fought back to go on top, 16-15, and was never tied again. Thomas-Nathan served another pair of aces to aid the Trojan comeback. Tvrdy led the team with three kills as USC hit .185. Oregon had 12 kills (6e) on 27 swings to hit .222.
- The Ducks held their last lead of the match at 6-5 in the third, but a 6-0 run put the Trojans on top, 17-12, and lifted USC to a 25-20 win for the sweep. Wijay had five more kills in the third and USC hit .414 with 15 kills (3e) on 29 attacks over Oregon's .296 effort (13k, 5e, 27att). The Women of Troy got two service aces from Deckert to reach 10 for the match, which equals a season high, and finished the contest with a 21-10 edge from the service line.
- USC heads across town to take on crosstown rival UCLA (9-6, 3-2 Big Ten) at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday (Oct. 11) at noon PT. The match will be shown live to a national television audience on NBC.
- USC improves to 58-21 all-time against Oregon and has won each of the last two meetings (both at Galen Center).
- The Trojans move to 8-2 in home matches this season.
- The Women of Troy collected their sixth 3-0 sweep of the season, the 627th in program history.
- The win is the 96th-career win for USC head coach Brad Keller.
- USC reached double-digit service aces (10) for the third time this season.
