Kam Woods Signs With USC Men's Baskebtall
December 18, 2025 | Men's Basketball
The graduate student will begin practice with the Trojans today, Dec. 18.
USC Men's Basketball will add graduate guard Kam Woods to the roster beginning today, Dec. 18, Coach Eric Musselman announced today.
Woods, whose most recent stop was at Robert Morris last season, will be immediately eligible for the Trojans.
"We're excited to welcome Kam Woods to the Trojan family," Musselman said. "Kam brings a tremendous competitive spirit to our program and is a proven winner. Kam has been an integral part of an NCAA Tournament bid at Robert Morris and a Final 4 run at NC State. Kam will provide us with defensive toughness and has experience at the guard position."
At Robert Morris, Woods and current Trojan Amarion Dickerson helped lead the Colonels to a Horizon League Championship and the school's first NCAA Tournament appearance in a decade. A Horizon League Second Team selection, Woods had eight games of 20-plus points and four double-doubles while averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
He began his career at Troy during the 2020-21 season before playing one season at junior college powerhouse Northwest Florida State Community College, where he helped the Raiders win the NJCAA Division I National Championship. He returned to Division I basketball for North Carolina A&T, where he averaged 17.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game and was a second-team All-CAA selection. From there, he played one season at NC State and was part of a Wolfpack team that made the Final Four.
In 97 career games, Woods has averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He has single-game highs of 30 points (Jan. 4, 2023), 11 rebounds (Jan. 26, 2023 vs. Drexel), and 11 assists (Feb. 23, 2025 vs. Milwaukee).
A native of Bessemer, Alabama, Woods graduated from Pinson Valley High School in 2020, where he was a two-time Alabama Class 6A Player of the Year and averaged 38.1 points per game, which was the seventh-most in the nation.
USC Men's Basketball will play one more non-conference game on Sunday, Dec. 21, against the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs. The Trojans will then return to Big Ten play to face No. 2 Michigan on Friday, Jan. 2.
