USC Scorches Hawks in Dominant 18-5 Victory

Senior Christina Gagnon posted four goals, as the Trojans ended with 18 in the game
CARSON, Calif. – No. 24 USC took down Saint Joesph's University in an offensive showcase, posting an 18-5 victory on Tuesday, Mar. 4, at Dignity Health Sports Park.

KEY PLAYERS:
- Senior Christina Gagnon led the Women of Troy offensively, posting four goals, as she now has 12 this season.
- Seniors Maddie Dora and Isabelle Vitale, as well as sophomore Emma Bunting, also earned hat tricks against the Hawks. Dora now has 31 goals and seven hat tricks this season and 14 hat tricks in her career. Vitale and Bunting had two assists alongside their three goals, bringing Vitale to 14 goals this season and Bunting to 11.
- Redshirt sophomore Hannah Barron contributed to the Women of Troy's win with her two goals in the first and fourth quarter. Sophomores Anna Regan and Reese Robinson also added to the scoreboard with one goal each.
- Junior Maggie Ramsey scored her first career goal against Saint Joseph's off a free position shot, finishing out the Trojans' offensive run at Dignity Health Sports Park.
- On the defensive end, Sophomore goalie Annie Shields had five saves against the Hawks, playing three-fourths of the game. Regan had five draw controls in the game, while Barron and Junior Kate Gerrity had three. Vitale and Gerrity
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks may have scored first, but the Women of Troy dominated the entire rest of the game and never fell behind again, finishing with a 13-goal lead.
- The Trojans went on a scoring hot streak in the second quarter. Gagnon scored her first goal of the game at 7:53, E. Bunting scored her second goal at 7:21, and Vitale scored her second at 6:39. E. Bunting would go on to earn a hat trick less than two minutes later. The Women of Troy led 10-2 against Saint Joseph's at the end of the half.
- Saint Joseph's went scoreless in the third quarter while USC posted six goals, creating an insurmountable 14-goal lead (16-2). The Hawks only scored three more times in the fourth quarter before falling to the Trojans 18-5.
