No. 21 USC Lacrosse Unleashes Offensive Attack on Marist

The Trojans tied their season high for points, as they rolled on the clock on the Red Foxes with a 21-5 victory
CARSON, Calif. – No. 21 USC lacrosse (7-1, 0-0 Big Ten) throttled Marist (1-7, 0-0 MAAC) 21-5 in the final nonconference game on the schedule on Friday, Mar. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The Trojans take on their first Big Ten opponent in No. 10 Johns Hopkins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 16 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
GAME NOTES:
KEY PLAYERS:
- Senior Maddie Dora led the offensive attack by posting five goals and adding one assist to a total of six points. Redshirt senior Isabelle Vitale collected seven points (three goals and four assists).
- Four Trojans collected multiple caused turnovers, including senior Alexis Niblock, who also picked up three ground balls.
- Sophomore Anna Regan broke her own school record as she collected 20 draw controls.
- Sophomore Annie Shields picked up the win as she allowed five goals and had three saves.
- The Trojans dominated from the get-go as they opened with four straight goals. The Women of Troy would continue to play this card as they led 7-1 after the opening quarter. USC's scoring was brought forth by fourth players, as Vitale, Dora, and freshman Kaylee Fravert each had two, and Regan had one.
- Two things were true heading into the second: USC would keep scoring, and Vitale would play a part in the score. The redshirt senior would play her part in assisting with the final two goals of the first and the first two of the second quarter. USC continued its success, as the Red Foxes couldn't stop the onslaught. The Women of Troy would end the second with three straight and follow that with five more consecutively to start the second. The Trojans would officially earn the running clock in the second quarter at 7:43, after redshirt junior Kailey Pelkey posted her first of the afternoon, 11-1. Dora would cap the scoring for USC in the second with her fourth goal, as the Red Foxes would make it 12-2 at halftime.
- The Trojans would further their lead in the third as they outscored Marist 5-2 with goals from five different players – Pelkey, senior Christina Gagnon, Dora, Vitale and sophomore Reese Robinson.
- It played to the same tune in the final quarter, as USC would add four more goals, and the Red Foxes would contribute one more to the final score. The Trojans would end up with goals from 11 different players, including five from Dora. USC would finish out the game with a 21-5 victory.

- USC is 79-21 in-home games and 7-2 all-time at Dignity Health Sports Park.
- The Trojans are 1-2 against the Red Foxes.
- USC had 11 players score in the matchup, including two hat tricks – Maddie Dora and Isabelle Vitale. Dora is ranked tied for 10th with 15 career hat tricks, and Vitale is sixth with 20 career hat tricks.
- Anna Regan currently has the top three records for draw controls in a single game, as she has posted 20 (vs. Marist; Mar. 14, 2025), 18 (at San Diego State; Mar. 1, 2025) and 17 (vs. UC Davis; Mar. 16, 2024) in a game.
