No. 16 USC Women's Tennis Set for Trio of Big Ten Conference Matches to Wrap Regular Season

USC to face No. 19 UCLA at LATC on Wednesday before returning home for matches at Marks Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
LOS ANGELES – No. 16 USC women's tennis, fresh off a 2-0 weekend, concludes regular season play this week with a trio of Big Ten Conference matches.
The Women of Troy will travel to the Los Angeles Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 16 to face No. 19 UCLA in a Battle for LA at 1 p.m. PT. On Friday, USC will return home to Marks Stadium to host Rutgers for a 3 p.m. match and wrap up the regular season against Maryland on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Saturday marks Senior Day for four Trojans – Parker Fry, Grace Piper, Maia Sung and Sloane Morra. The four Trojans will be honored on court prior to the start of doubles play. Saturday's match also includes a 'Victory is our Tradition' t-shirt giveaway to the first 200 fans in attendance.
SO FAR THIS SEASON
USC, currently ranked No. 16 in the polls, has remained within the ITA's top 30 all spring, ranking as high as No. 11 back in January. The Trojans have turned in ranked wins over No. 7 Texas and No. 19 Wisconsin, while tallying an overall record of 13-5 (7-3 in conference play). Sophomore Immi Haddad leads USC in singles wins with 20 total, while Lily Fairclough and Grace Piper lead the Trojans in doubles wins with 21 this season.
TROJANS IN THE RANKINGS
Four Trojans appeared in the most recent ITA rankings, with the No. 10 ranked doubles team of Lily Fairclough and Grace Piper leading the way. In singles, junior Emma Charney checked in at No. 58, followed by senior Piper at No. 71 and sophomore Immi Haddad at No. 103.
SCOUTING UCLA
Last time the Trojans and Bruins met, the match went nearly five hours before USC pulled off the 4-3 win at Marks Tennis Stadium. USC is 23-34 all-time against UCLA and 10-16 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Trojans last beat the Bruins on the road back in 2019 when USC won 4-1.
To get past No. 19 UCLA for a second time this season, USC will need its three ranked singles players and ranked duo at the top of their game. The Bruins boast four ranked singles players and two ranked pairs. In singles, No. 26 Anne Christine Lutkemeyer leads the way, followed by No. 41 Kate Fakih, No. 63 Elise Wagle and No. 106 Kimmi Hance. In doubles, USC's top pair will face UCLA's No. 6 ranked Olivia Center and Kate Fakih, while court two will likely be matchup between USC's Sloane Morra and Jana Hossam and UCLA's No. 18 ranked pair of Kimmi Hance and Elise Wagle.

The Scarlet Knights are unranked as a squad and do not have any players ranked in singles or doubles. Rutgers is 7-12 overall and 1-10 this season in Big Ten play. USC has never faced Rutgers in women's tennis.

Maryland checked in at No. 56 in the most recent rankings but does not boast any ranked singles or doubles players. The Terrapins are 14-9 overall and 7-4 in conference play. USC has never faced Maryland in women's tennis.
