LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — The No. 13 USC women's tennis team continues its NCAA Tournament run on Friday, traveling to face No. 3 Texas A&M in the Round of 16 at the Mitchell Tennis Center. First serve is set for 12 p.m. PT (2 p.m. CT) in College Station, with a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals on the line.
The Trojans (21-6) arrive in the Super Regional round after a commanding opening weekend at Marks Stadium, sweeping Sacramento State 4-0 before taking down No. 23 California 4-1. With the pair of victories, USC advances to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2024 and brings its all-time NCAA Tournament record to 81-40.
This season has already been a historic one for the Women of Troy. USC captured its first-ever Big Ten Regular Season title, marking the program's first conference title since 2015. USC's 21 wins are also a program best since the 2015 campaign when USC went on to win 25 matches and reach the NCAA semifinals.
USC's lineup is anchored by ranked singles players No. 23 Jana Hossam, No. 72 Emma Charney and No. 107 Eugenia Zozaya. In doubles play, the Trojans feature three ranked pairs, led by No. 27 Krisha Mahendran/Lily Fairclough and No. 52 Jana Hossam/Fairclough. Fairclough and Dani Borruel also appear in the rankings at No. 85.Â
Awaiting USC is a formidable Texas A&M squad (24-5), ranked No. 3 nationally and seeded fourth in the tournament. The Aggies advanced with a 4-0 win over Quinnipiac and a 4-1 victory against Baylor, continuing a streak of seven straight NCAA Super Regional appearances.
Texas A&M boasts one of the nation's most talented rosters, highlighted by the top-ranked singles player in the country, Lucciana Perez. The Aggies also feature four additional ranked singles players and three ranked doubles teams, including the No. 11 tandem of Perez and Mia Kupres.
Friday's matchup marks the fifth meeting all-time between the programs, with the series tied at 2-2.
Texas A&M will look to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive season, while USC aims to break through to the quarterfinal round for the first time since 2015.
