USC Rowing Heads to Florida for Big Ten Invitational
April 16, 2025 | Women's Rowing
Trojans will have six boats competing at the event at Nathan Benderson Park on Friday and Saturday.
LOS ANGELES — USC women's rowing will take a trip east this week for the program's first competition at the Big Ten Invitational. Now in its fifth season, the event is one of the nation's premier regular-season regattas at the NCAA level. Hosted annually by Big Ten institutions, this year's regatta will be held April 18-19 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla., with Michigan serving as host.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Kelsie Chaudoin, USC will have six boats in action across three rounds of races. Two rounds will take place on Friday in a morning and an afternoon session, with one round slated for Saturday. The Trojans are among 11 Big Ten programs competing at the event, along with 12 other invited teams from other conferences.
The Trojans' start times for each race are below, and race results will be posted HERE. All races will be available to watch via live stream at RHStv.com.
USC's race day lineups will be posted on X and Instagram at @uscwomensrowing.
LAST ACTION
USC posted strong showings at the San Diego Crew Classic, highlighted by a dominant performance from the Novice 8+ crew who captured the Laurel Korholz Trophy with an impressive eight-second victory — after narrowly crossing second in Saturday's heat. The Varsity 8+ battled to a fifth-place finish in the competitive Jessop-Whittier/Cal Cup final, while the 2V8+ secured fourth place. The Varsity 4+ rounded out the Trojans' solid weekend with a sixth-place finish in their final at Mission Bay.
BEATING THE BRUINS
On March 8, USC defeated crosstown rival UCLA in the annual head-to-head dual for a fifth straight time and improved to 23-1 all-time over the Bruins at the Port of Los Angeles. The Women of Troy collected a 20-3 victory with wins by the 1V8, 2V8, 3V8, and the 1V4. The dual victory also secured USC's possession of the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerrero Azbill Trophy. The Trojans claimed the inaugural trophy in the 2022 UCLA Dual and has continued to control the award as winners in 2023, 2024 and 2025. This trophy honors long-time late former UCLA coach Amy Fuller Kearny and former USC assistant coach Lori Guerrero Azbill.
STRONG SHOWING AT SDCC
USC wrapped up the San Diego Crew Classic with solid performances across the board at Mission Bay.
