April 22, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
CHICAGO – USC lacrosse's Maddie Dora (Milton, Ga./Milton HS) and Alexis Niblock (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport Blue-Point HS) were selected as the first Trojans to be named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. Freshman Kaylee Fravert earned a spot on the All-Freshman team, while Hannah Barron was the Trojans sportsmanship team honoree, the conference announced Tuesday, Apr. 22.
In its first season in the Big Ten, USC will have some representation amongst the best in the conference, with three Trojans earning their spots on the All-Conference lists.
The two headliners amongst the awards are Dora and Niblock. This is Dora's first conference honor from any conference, while this is Niblock's second (Pac-12 All-Conference First Team; 2024).
Dora has been at the forefront of the scoring attack all season, as she finished the regular season with 59 goals and six assists. Dora's 59 goals are the fourth most in a single season by a Trojan and only four goals away from a top-three placement. The senior's 59 goals ranked 10th in the NCAA and 2nd in the Big Ten at the end of the regular season.
Niblock served as the captain during this senior season and anchored the defense. The senior posted 30 caused turnovers and picked up 41 ground balls throughout the regular season; her caused turnovers per game rate of 1.88 is 26th in the NCAA/4th in the Big Ten and her 2.56 ground balls per game rate is 1st in the conference. Niblock's work on the defensive front earned her a spot on the ILWomen Midseason All-American list.
In her first season for the Women of Troy, Fravert found her groove. She is third on the team in goals with 23. During the regular season, the freshman accumulated four hat tricks, including a four-goal affair against Rutgers; Fravert was the first freshman since 2022 to record a hat trick.
During the nomination process, each team was given the opportunity to select one player that they think embodies a core value of sportsmanship. For USC, that player was Barron. Barron played in all 16 games for the women of Troy and recorded 14 goals, four assists, 18 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and 17 draw controls.
The 25th-ranked Trojans (10-6, 3-5 Big Ten) will have an uphill battle heading into the conference tournament. They are slated to play No. 3-seeded (#12) Michigan (11-5, 5-3 Big Ten) in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 23, in University Park, Md.
