Jaden Brownell comes to USC after spending a season at Samford.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball will add Jaden Brownell to the roster for the 2025-26 season, Head Coach Eric Musselman announced today.
"We are excited to welcome Jaden to the Trojan Family," Coach Musselman said. "He has an extremely unique skill set for his size. His passing, shooting and basketball IQ and passing will be a huge asset to our USC basketball team."
Brownell makes his way to Los Angeles from Samford University, where he was on the team for one season. The 6-foot-9 forward started all but two games for the Bulldogs, averaging 14 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He had his best performance during his last game of the season in the NIT against George Mason, where he tallied 27 points while making six three-pointers. His best day on the boards came against Michigan State, when he grabbed nine.
Prior to his time at Samford, Brownell was on the roster for the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames for two seasons. His best campaign came during his sophomore year when he averaged 6.2 points and 2.4 rebounds across 34 games. Along with that, he appeared in 27 games and averaged 3.8 points per game while shooting at 40 percent from beyond the arc as a freshman. He had one of his best games that season against Belmont, when he contributed 12 points.
Before arriving at UIC, Brownell was a three-year letter winner at Alta High School in his hometown of Sandy, Utah. He finished his high school career with over 1,000 career points.
Brownell is now the fourth player to sign with the Trojans for the upcoming season.
