USC Rowing Places Seven Trojans on CRCA Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll
June 17, 2025 | Women's Rowing
Senior Isabella Lysaker wraps her USC career as a three-time honoree.
USC rowing has placed seven Trojans on the prestigious 2025 CRCA Scholar-Athlete list, as announced today by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Leading the pack with her third career CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award is senior Isabella Lysaker, while three Trojans — juniors Julia Karten, Isabella Korellis and Raquel Rodriguez — have picked up their second selections to the honor roll. USC's first-time honorees with 2025 awards are sophomores Chloe Amling, Ellen Ariathurai and Abbie Diemer.
The CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate a strong commitment to success in the classroom and on the water. Nominees must meet specific athletic and academic criteria in having either rowed in at least 75 percent of the team's spring races in an NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boat or having competed in an NCAA boat at their conference championship. On the academic side, CRCA Scholar-Athletes must meet all institutional and conference eligibility rules, be in their second, third, fourth or fifth year of eligibility and must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the end of the fall semester/winter quarter.
Under the direction of USC's first-year head coach Kelsie Chaudoin, the Women of Troy were competitive in their 2024-25 season, in which the program competed in the Big Ten Conference for the first time. USC placed sixth as a team at the 2025 Big Ten Championships, with three boats racing in grand finals and two boats finishing first in petite finals at the event in Indianapolis last month.
