USC Track and Field Prepares for New Mexico Collegiate Classic

The Trojans close out the indoor regular season in two weeks
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The USC track and field team returns to the oval this weekend at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of New Mexico.
Expected to travel for the Trojan men are JC Stevenson, Emmett Mack, Jackson Norris, Elias Gerald, Garrett Kaalund, Jaelen Knox, Nickolas Miller, Edward Nketia, Lincoln Marschall, Ethan Exilhomme, Chase McCallum, Yougendy Mauricette, Jacob Andrews, Wiaan Martin and Jack Stadlman.
On the women's side, Madison Mosby and Lillian Harden are expected to make their Trojan debuts. They are traveling alongside Lauren Reed, Jada Foreman, Avery Lewis, Jada Gatlin, Ahnyx Bush, Asjah Atkinson, Makenna Barnett, Nonah Waldron, Kailyn Head, Ashley Erasmus, Brianna Selby, Dajaz DeFrand, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Rachael Uvieghara, Olivia Pace, Madison Whyte, Christine M. Mallard, Takiya Cenci, Joelle Trepagnier and Oluwatosin Awoleye.
LAST TIME OUT
At the DeLoss Dodds Invite, Alyssa Hope brought home the victory in the women's long jump in her season debut with a best mark of 6.11m on her third attempt. Avery Lewis claimed second place with a jump of 5.96m on her final attempt. In the women's triple jump, Lauren Reed and Jada Gatlin notched indoor personal bests of 12.54m and 12.05m, respectively.
On the men's side, Freshman Jackson Norris posted a personal-best mark of 7.40m in the men's long jump to finish in sixth place and Elias Gerald cleared 2.14m, earning a ninth-place finish in men's high jump.
LAST SEASON
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, the men's team won the national title for the first time since the 1972 season, winning as a team with no event champions. The women's team placed third for the first time since their second-place finish in 2019. Dajaz DeFrand led the women, winning the women's 60m dash title with a PR and facility-record time of 7.09.
Indoor All-Americans from the 2025 season returning for the 2026 season include Dajaz DeFrand, Elias Gerald, William Jones, Garrett Kaalund, Christine M. Mallard, JC Stevenson, Madison Whyte, Jacob Andrews and Nonah Waldron.
At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the men placed second while the women's team came in third. Returners Dajaz DeFrand (60m), JC Stevenson (60m) and William Jones (400m) each won the Big Ten title for their respective events.
