March 18, 2026 | Women's Golf
The Trojans won with an 824 (-28), which was 23 strokes ahead of second place.
OAHU, Hawai'i — Extending its team and individual win streak to three tournaments, the No. 2 USC Women's Golf team put together a dominant 23-stroke win at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, held at the par-71 Pearl at Kalauao in Oahu, Hawai'i on Tuesday, March 18.
USC's 824 (-28) was not only 23 strokes ahead of second-place teams No. 12 North Carolina and No. 23 Arizona State, but also the team's second-lowest stroke total in a tournament this season. Individually, Jasmine Koo won the title with a 202 (-11) to tie the best round of her collegiate career. With the victory, Koo now has two wins this season and six in her career, which ties Annie Park for the most all time in USC history.
In what has been shaping up to be a historic season for the Trojans, the team achieved several historical milestones in the win. USC has now won three consecutive tournaments in back-to-back seasons. Additionally, USC has matched its tournament win total from last season with four victories. Furthermore, the team's -28 is the fifth-best tournament relative to par in program history, while the 23-stroke lead is tied for the ninth-biggest margin of victory in program history.
Individually, five Trojans finished in the top 10. Senior Catherine Park was the runner-up with a 208 (-5), while Bailey Shoemaker, Elise Lee and Kylie Chong all tied for sixth with 211s (-2). This is the first time USC has had more than four top-10 finishers at a tournament this season.
Koo wrapped up her stellar tournament by firing a 67 (-4) in the final round. The sophomore was never challenged for the lead in the last round. Going into the final round, she had a two-stroke lead and maintained her lead with a bogey-free round. She had four birdies on the day, including a 12-foot birdie putt on the par-4 No. 18 to seal the win.
Park came into the final round in a tie for fourth place, but separated herself from the field with a 69 (-2) in the final round. She ran into trouble late on the front side with two bogeys before closing the round with three birdies in the final six holes. The result gave Park 24 career top-10 finishes, which tied Sophia Popov for the second-most in USC history.
The biggest mover for the Trojans in the final round, Chong moved up nine places to tie for sixth place after firing a 68 (-3). The sophomore had a bogey-free final round with birdies on Nos. 5, 9 and 12 to lower her score. Chong now leads the team with five top-10 finishes this season.
Placing in the top 10 for the third consecutive tournament, Shoemaker finished the tournament with a 74 (+3). She found trouble in the final round, finishing with four bogeys and a double-bogey to just three birdies.
Competing as an individual, Elise Lee also tied for sixth place after firing a 71 (E) on Wednesday. Aside from back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 3 and 4, Lee was consistent throughout the day and finished the round with two birdies. She was one of three Trojans to finish the tournament with all three rounds at par or better.
Freshman Sarah Hammett finished in 18th place with a 216 (+3), giving USC all five players in the top 20. She fired a 74 (+3) in the final round.
From here, USC goes to Phoenix, Ariz. for the PING ASU Invitational from May 23-25. All pertinent updates can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
