CATHY'S CURTAIN CALL
Senior Catherine Park is wrapping up a stellar collegiate career this spring. The three-time All-American currently ranks in a tie for second in program history with five tournament wins. With one more win, Cathy would tie Annie Park and Jasmine Koo for the most career wins in USC history.
Park has left a mark everywhere in the USC career record book. Last season, she set the USC single-season records for top ten finishes (10) and par or better rounds (26), plus her stroke average of 71.00 was second only to her single-season low of 70.94 from her sophomore season. She tied the best round by score in program history with an 8-under 63 in the third round of the Stanford Intercollegiate as a junior, while her three-round score of 204 at the 2024 Pac-12 Championship is tied for the best three-round score in program history.
So far, her 15 rounds at par or better lead the team and her 11 rounds in the 60s are tied for the most on the team. She has finished in the top-25 in all but one tournament this year and she has four top-10 finishes.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
Sophomore Kylie Chong is enjoying a breakout sophomore season. The Torrance, Calif. native is coming off a dominant win at the GameAbove Invitational, where she won with a 205 (-11) that had three rounds in the 60s. She has placed in the top 10 in four events — already doubling her two top-10 finishes as a freshman — and her two tournament wins are tied with Jasmine Koo for the most on the team.
JUST JASMINE THINGS
An All-American and All-Big Ten First Team as a freshman, Jasmine Koo is building upon a successful collegiate debut season in which she tied the program record for wins in a single season with four and tied the program record for most wins in succession with three in a row. She is currently tied with Annie Park with six tournament wins; one more win would make her the winningest player in USC history.
Koo is coming off her sixth collegiate win at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. She led the field after the first round and didn't look back en route to firing a 202 (-11) in wet and rainy conditions. She has finished in the top 25 in seven tournaments and has finished in the top 10 four times.
COMING HOME
Making her return to Southern California, Irvine native Elise Lee joined USC after being an integral part of the Northwestern Wildcats' national title-winning team last spring. The sophomore has been one of USC's scoring players in 16.5 of the 21.5 rounds this season. Lee has fired her career-low round of 68 on four occasions this season. She is coming off another top-10 finish playing as an individual at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, where her steady play was good enough to tie for sixth place with a 211 (-2).
BAILEY'S BACK
Bailey Shoemaker is making her return to USC after missing the fall season. The junior from Dade City, Fla. has finished in the top 15 in all four tournaments so far, with her best finish being a second-place finish at the GameAbove Invitational. After two weeks of solid play, she is currently No. 13 in the Scoreboard individual rankings Her 70.33 stroke average currently leads the team.
Shoemaker has been a staple in the Trojan lineup throughout her collegiate career. She led USC by placing sixth at the NCAA East Lansing Regional with a career-best 9-under 207 to help the Trojans qualify for the NCAA Championships. She has 16 career top-25 finishes and seven top-10 finishes.
FAB FRESHMEN
USC welcomes two freshmen to the squad this year: Sarah Hammett and Chloe Kim. The only international player on USC's roster, Hammett hails from Gold Coast, Australia and has competed in six tournaments so far. Her best finish of the spring season was at the GameAbove Invitational, where she tied for sixth place and fired a collegiate-best 68 in the final round.
Kim made her debut in the spring at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and has competed as an individual in both of USC's tournaments this spring. She is coming off a collegiate-best 32nd-place showing at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.
