No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Wins Fourth Consecutive Title at the PING ASU Invitational
March 25, 2026 | Women's Golf
USC has won four-straight three-round tournaments for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
PHOENIX — In yet another historic milestone for the No. 2 USC Women's Golf team this season, the Trojans won their fourth-consecutive three-round tournament for the first time since 2013-14 at the PING ASU Invitational, hosted by Arizona State University at the Papago Golf Club on Wednesday, March 25.
Battling record heat on the last day at the par-72, 6,570-yard Papago Golf Club, the Trojans outlasted the field with an 11-stroke lead and won with an 841 (-23). This is the Trojans' fifth title of the season, which ties last year's five wins. Last season, the Trojans also won four consecutive titles, however, stroke play at the East Lake Cup was only one round.
Host team No. 23 Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, Baylor and Kansas rounded out the top five teams. Cal State Fullerton's Davina Xanh won the individual title by one stroke with a 208 (-8), while USC senior Catherine Park and three other players took runner-up honors.
Led by Park, USC had all four scorers in the top 10. Park came into the day in the lead, but ran into trouble with two bogeys and a double-bogey on the front side, making her fall back into third place. However, she rallied back with birdies on Nos. 13 and 15 to reclaim the lead before a bogey on No. 17 sent her back to second. She finished with a 75 (+3) and a three-round score of 209 (-7).
Junior Bailey Shoemaker and sophomores Elise Lee and Kylie Chong finished in a four-way tie for eighth with a 212 (-4). Chong had the best day of the three, rising eight spots after firing a 69 (-3), which was the best round of the day by the Trojans. She had just one bogey on the No. 9 and four birdies.
Shoemaker, meanwhile, was the only Trojan to string together three rounds under par in the tournament. She pushed her score under par with three of her four birdies on the back side and finished with one bogey and one double bogey to wrap up her fourth consecutive top-10 finish.
Lee entered the day in a tie for second place but ran into trouble throughout her final-round 74 (+2). She finished with three birdies but five bogeys.
Competing as an individual, freshman Sarah Hammett rose up nine spots to finish in a tie for 31st with a 220 (+4). Sophomore Jasmine Koo withdrew in the final round. She was tied for 12th with a 142 (-2) going into the final round.
Next week, four Trojans — Jasmine Koo, Elise Lee, Catherine Park and Bailey Shoemaker — will play at the Augusta National Women's Amateur in Augusta, Ga. from April 1-4.
Later, USC plays its final regular-season tournament at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, hosted by the University of Colorado at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif. All pertinent updates can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
