USC Track and Field Travels Split Squad to LSU Battle on the Bayou and Triton Invitational

Sprinter and jumpers will travel to LSU while throwers and distance runners head to UC San Diego
BATON ROUGE, La. – The USC track and field team will split the squad between outdoor meets this weekend with sprints and jumps headed to the LSU Battle on the Bayou and throws and distance traveling south for the Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
LSU BATTLE ON THE BAYOU
Trojans will compete in long jump, triple jump, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. The field includes Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, LSU, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Dakota State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and UCLA.
Jacob Andrews, Asjah Atkinson, Oluwatosin Awoleye, Makenna Barnett, Anisa Bowen-Fontenot, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Takiya Cenci, Ethan Exilhomme, Jada Foreman, Jada Gatlin, Lillian Harden, Garrett Kaalund, Jaelen Knox, Falyn Lott, Christine Mallard, Wiaan Martin, Yougendy Mauricette, Chase McCallum, Nickolas Miller, Madison Mosby, Edward Nketia, Jackson Norris, Olivia Pace, Lauren Reed, Brianna Selby, Jack Stadlman, JC Stevenson, Rachael Uvieghara and Madison Whyte are all expected to travel.
TRITON INVITATIONAL
Trojans are expected to compete in discus, shot put, hammer, 800m and 1500m. Racquil Broderick, Ashley Erasmus, Vincent Ugwoke, Reese Garland, Mico Lampinen, Jenna Gallaway, Karyssa Owens, Matteo Mitchell, Jacqueline Duarte, Alfredo Reina Corona, Hayley Spoden, Gabe Castillo and Paige Unger are all expected to compete. Additionally, Max Lampinen is expected to make his Trojan debut.
LAST TIME OUT
The USC track and field team dominated the field to open the outdoor season hosting the Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational at Allyson Felix Field. The men and women each won nine events across the two days to open up the outdoor season. All four relay teams swept both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. The Women of Troy ran the world-leading mark in the 4x100 and Racquil Broderick recorded the top mark in the men's discus in the NCAA this season.
2026 INDOOR SEASON SUCCESS
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Garrett Kaalund led USC with a historic 200m title in a record-breaking 19.95, the first sub-20 indoor collegiate time ever and an NCAA and American record.
Madison Whyte added to the Trojans' success with a runner-up finish in the 400m in a personal-best 50.68, while Dajaz DeFrand and Brianna Selby earned First Team All-American honors in the 60m.
2025 OUTDOOR SEASON
Last outdoor season, the Trojans delivered standout performances on both the men's and women's sides. At the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the women claimed the team title behind a dominant showing from Madison Whyte, who won the 200m and 400m and anchored the meet-clinching 4x400m relay. The men finished fourth, highlighted by individual titles from William Jones in the 400m and Yougendy Mauricette in the 400m hurdles.
At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the women placed second overall, securing national titles in the 100m and the 4x400m relay. The men secured the NCAA team championship with 41 total points, capping off an exceptional season for both programs.
