April 01, 2026 | Men's Basketball
Davidson comes to USC from the University of Hawai'i.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball has hired Brad Davidson to join the program as an assistant coach, Head Coach Eric Musselman announced today. Davidson brings 18 years of international and collegiate coaching experience into this role.
"I've followed Coach Musselman's programs closely over the past five to six years through relationships with former colleagues and players who have worked with him," Davidson said. "The opportunity to join his staff at a storied program like USC and compete in the Big Ten is incredibly exciting for me and my family. We're eager to get to Los Angeles and get to work."
Davidson most recently served as the associate head coach at the University of Hawai'i, where he helped the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016. During his time with the Rainbow Warriors, he helped the team to three 20+ win seasons, directing the offensive efforts. He created one of the best offensive teams in the Big West, ranking in the top three in the conference in field goal percentage this season. He also guided the offense to a program-high 18 three-pointers during his first season with the program.
Before coming to Honolulu, Davidson was an assistant coach at South Dakota for three seasons, where he coached USC's Player Development/Recruiting Coordinator Caleb Cline. While in Vermillion, Davidson helped the team finish 20-12 and rank among the top of the NCAA in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and points per possession. Along with that, the Coyotes won 10-straight games and started 9-0 in league play for the first time since 1992-93 in his final season with the program.
His first NCAA coaching job was at North Dakota, where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach. During that time, he helped the Fighting Hawks earn their first NCAA Tournament bid in school history after sweeping the Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament titles.
Prior to coaching in the college ranks, Davidson coached with numerous professional teams in his home country of Australia. His coaching career began with the West Adelaide Bearcats as their head coach before going to the Norwood Flames. Davidson also had stops with Basketball Australia and the Canberra Gunners.
Davidson played basketball professionally in the National Basketball League in Australia for 13 seasons before his coaching career began. He started playing for the Townsville Crocodiles, then went on to play for the Cairns Taipans, the Hunter Pirates, the Singapore Slingers and the Adelaide 36ers.
Davidson will come to Los Angeles with his wife, Megan, and children Cooper, Finn, Zoe and Zara. He will begin in his role with the Trojans on Monday, April 6.
