USC Men’s Golf Sweeps the 79th Western Intercollegiate
April 15, 2026 | Men's Golf
The Trojans win the team title at 13-under par and sophomore Jack Buchanan takes home co-medalist honors at 200 (-10) total.
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — For the fourth time in tournament history, the USC Men's Golf team swept the Western Intercollegiate titles at Pasatiempo Golf Course on Wednesday, April 15.
USC's 1037 (-13) was one stroke ahead of runner-up California. The win was USC's eighth Western Intercollegiate team title and the fourth team title this season, which is the most the Trojans have won in a single season since they won four titles in 1997. Additionally, Jack Buchanan was the co-champion with a 200 (-10) to become the fifth Trojan to win an individual Western Intercollegiate title.
"Our team depth was on display this week," Head Coach Mark Hankins said. " We had a lot of guys contribute throughout the tournament and that proved to be enough to get our fourth win. Jack was really solid throughout the tournament and stayed tough down the stretch to deliver the individual and team championships. Nico also was huge today and was our only player under-par in the final round. His 64 was his personal best and came in a big moment."
For the second straight tournament, the team title came down to the final hole. USC had a one-stroke lead over runner-up California on the final hole, yet Jack Buchanan and Cal's Charlie Bundy both bogeyed the tricky par-3 to seal the victory for USC.
Entering the day in the lead, Buchanan held off several challengers and ended up splitting the individual title with Stanford's Dean Greyserman. Buchanan's 200 (-10) was not only the first win of his collegiate career, but also the first Western Intercollegiate win by a Trojan since Justin Suh won the event in 2017.
"It was really cool to get the team win," Buchanan said. "It's our fourth of the season and back-to-back wins, which is really cool. The guys really dug deep out there today. To get the individual win on top of it, I think it'll sink in a bit later, but it feels great right now."
"The guys are really playing well heading into the postseason, so we're excited to see how far this team will go this year," Buchanan added.
Buchanan fired a 71 on the final day with one birdie and two bogeys. He held the lead throughout the day and was at par for eight consecutive holes heading into the final hole.
Fellow sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya gave the Trojans three top-10 finishers by placing sixth with a 204 (-6). The sophomore stayed at par with two birdies and two bogeys on the front side, yet ran into trouble with three bogeys on the back side. This was his fourth top-10 finish of the season.
Junior Nicolas Dominguez was instrumental in helping the Trojans keep their lead. Moving up 25 places in the final round, Dominguez fired his best round of the tournament and his career with a 64 (-6) to tie for 10th. He ran into trouble with three bogeys on the front side, but posted a birdie and then an eagle on the par-5 No. 9 as he made the turn. Dominguez finished strong with four birdies, another eagle on No. 13 and just one bogey on the back side. This was his third top-10 finish of the season.
Graduate senior Luke Stock tied for 30th with a 211 (+1). Heading into the day in the top 20, Stock found trouble during his final round with four bogeys to just two birdies. However, his birdie on No. 18 was critical to help USC fend off California for the lead.
Freshman Raghav Gulati tied for 77th with a 223 (+13), while senior Antonio Safa tied for 83rd with a 226 (+16).
