The 7-foot-1 center comes to Los Angeles from UConn.
LOS ANGELES — USC Men's Basketball has added UConn transfer Eric Reibe for the 2026-27 season, Head Coach Eric Musselman announced today, April 27.
"We are so excited to welcome Eric to the Trojan Family," Musselman said. "Eric brings a unique skill set at 7-foot-1, being able to play as a point forward for us with his perimeter shooting and passing abilities. Eric will also be able to provide us with a go-to player that we can throw the ball to in the post. Defensively, Eric is an excellent defensive rebounder and rim protector."
A former top-25 recruit and McDonald's All-American, Reibe comes to USC from UConn with three years of eligibility remaining. With his addition, the Trojans are the only Big Ten team with three true 7-footers expected to be on the roster in 2026-27 so far.
A 7-foot-1 center from Hanover, Germany, Reibe played in all 40 games off the bench for the Huskies during their Final Four run. He averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 minutes per game while shooting 65.8% from the field in 13.8 minutes per game. Reibe also notched 29 blocks, which ranked third on the team. His single-game career highs include 16 points (vs. Bryant), eight rebounds (twice), four blocks (vs. Butler) and six made field goals (four times).
Prior to UConn, Reibe prepped at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, where he was a McDonald's All-American. He ranked No. 23 in the ESPN100, No. 28 in the 247 Sports composite recruiting rankings and the No. 1 center in the class, per On3. Reibe led The Bullis School to the 2025 Maryland Private School state championship, where he had a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Additionally, Reibe has extensive international playing experience. He helped Germany win the silver medal at the FIBA U19 World Cup, where he averaged 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 23.7 minutes per game. He also played for the World Team at the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit.
