Â
ALL-TIME SERIES VS OREGON: The Trojans hold a 36-31 all-time record against Oregon in a series that dates back to 1955. The two programs last met during a home series for USC last season, when the Ducks swept the Trojans. USC will look to flip the script in this year's rematch.
Â
HOME DOMINANCE: The Trojans finished their regular-season home schedule this past week, locking up the best home record in program history at 32-1. The previous record was 30-3 set back in 1978. This year's record-setting mark comes in the first season at the new Dedeaux Field. USC's only loss at home this year was on March 24 against then-No. 16 Oregon State.
Â
SWEEP VS NEVADA: The Trojans picked up their ninth sweep of the season against non-conference opponent Nevada this past weekend, beating the Wolf Pack by a combined score of 31-7. USC saw plenty of offensive action throughout the weekend, with multiple players hitting home runs in each game, most notably four home runs in the seventh inning on Saturday.
Â
MIDWEEK WIN VS CSUF: The Trojans put up 13 runs to beat Cal State Fullerton at home last Tuesday night in the team's final midweek game of the regular season. USC scored four runs in each of the first two innings behind home runs from Adrian Lopez and Augie Lopez to take an 8-2 advantage. Maximo Martinez also hit a two-run homer and Dean Carpentier drove in two runs on three hits. The USC bullpen sealed the 13-4 victory, as six Trojan pitchers combined for six scoreless innings.
Â
NINE SWEEPS: USC's nine sweeps on the year marks a program record, surpassing the previous mark of six sweeps, accomplished in both 1991 and 1996. The Trojans have swept nine of the 12 series the team has played this season, including all eight at home.
Â
HOT START: The Trojans' 19-0 start to the season marked the best in program history and tied the USC record for the longest winning streak in program history, set in 1955. The Trojans were the final unbeaten team in the country before suffering their first loss of the season in the second game of a doubleheader at Northwestern. USC was also the first team to 20 wins in the country and was one of just four teams to hit 30 wins at the time. The Trojans' 30-7 record marked the fastest a USC team has gotten to 30 wins in a season since 1978 and this year's squad is one of just three Trojan teams to ever start a season 30-7, joining the 1978 and 1961 teams.
Â
PITCHING DOMINANCE: The Trojan pitching staff has been dominant throughout the season, posting the No. 1 Hits/9 (6.83), No. 1 shutouts (9), No. 4 WHIP (1.19), and No. 6 ERA (3.53) in the country.
