USC Track and Field Wins Nine Big Ten Outdoor Championship Event Titles

LINCOLN, Neb. — The USC track and field team showed out in the 100m, 200m, 400m and women's relays to close out the Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Sunday at the Nebraska Outdoor Track. The women placed third with 90 points and the men secured fourth place at 70.5 points.
Madison Whyte had the standout day for the Women of Troy. The junior brought home four gold medals in the 4x100m relay, 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay. On the men's side, Edward Nketia secured two of the men's four Big Ten titles, winning the 100m and 200m.

- The women's 4x100m relay kicked off the day with the team of Christine Mallard, Dajaz DeFrand, Madison Whyte and Brianna Selby recording a new meet record of 42.85 and slotting in at the No. 10 time in USC history on their way to a gold medal.
- The men's 4x100m relay put up points and their season best with the team of Nick Miller, Jaelen Knox, Jacob Andrews and Edward Nketia securing fourth place in 39.02.
- Madison Whyte and Jack Stadlman continued their 400m sweep of the year with both adding to their 2026 indoor titles. Whyte won the women's 400m in 51.01 and Stadlman earned the men's title in 45.44.
- In the 100m, the Women of Troy went 1-2-8 with Brianna Selby leading the way in the No. 2 all-conditions time in NCAA history at 10.74 (+3.8 m/s). Dajaz DeFrand was right by her side with the runner-up time of 10.90. Rachael Uvieghara scored a point in eighth place at 11.24.
- On the men's side, Nketia won the 100m in a new Australian all-conditions best time of 9.74 (+5.6 m/s). He continued his dominance in the 200m with another gold in 20.03 (+7.5 m/s).
- In the women's 200m, the Trojans scored 23 points with Madison Whyte at the helm in 21.78 (+6.0 m/s). DeFrand picked up a bronze medal in 22.28, Mallard placed fifth in 22.54 and Uvieghara earned sixth place with a time of 22.65.
- The women's 4x400m relay closed out the day with one more gold-medal finish. The team of Mallard, Cenci, Trepagnier and Whyte won in a meet-record time of 3:28.52.
- Also adding points to the team total were long jump and discus on the women's side. Lauren Reed secured a PR of 13.13m (43-1) to place seventh and Jada Foreman placed eighth with a mark of 12.92m (42-4.75).
- At discus, Reese Garland secured fifth place with a throw of 56.73m (184-11). Karyssa Owens joined her in the top-8 with a personal-best throw of 54.44m (178-7)
- On the men's side, Elias Gerald tied for seventh with a jump of 2.09m (6-10 ¼) at high jump to add to the team point total.
