USC Women's Track and Field Defeats UCLA, 93-69

The Trojans set four new meet records during the annual USC-UCLA dual
LOS ANGELES — The USC track and field team hosted UCLA for the second day of the dual meet on Sunday, splitting the win with the crosstown rival. The Women of Troy won their side with a score of 93-69 while the men fell to the Bruins, 87-76.
The Trojans swept all four relays for the day highlighted by a new meet and facility record from the women's 4x100m relay. The team of Christine Mallard, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Madison Whyte and Dajaz DeFrand ran the No. 4 time in USC history at 42.29.
Also adding meet records individually were Whyte and Brianna Selby. Whyte posted a time of 50.78 in the 400m to take the win and Christine Mallard made it eight points total for the Trojans with a time of 51.66. Selby posted a wind-legal time and season best of 11.07 in the 100m, leading a Trojan sweep with DeFrand in second (11.21) and Uvieghara in third (11.21).
Freshman Oluwatosin Awoleye added 10 points on her own in her first dual meet. In the 1500m, she notched a time of 4:22.18. Later in the day, she picked up a comeback win over the Bruins in the 800m in 2:05.97.

- The men's 4x100 relay team of Nickolas Miller, Jaelen Knox, Jacob Andrews and Edward Nketia went back and forth with the Bruins, and ultimately came out on top in a time of 39.87.
- At men's javelin, Tom Tersek made his collegiate debut with a throw of 58.20m (190-11) to place first.
- Jack Stadlman showed out in his first dual meet in the 400m at 45.18. He led the Trojans to a 1-2 punch with Garrett Kaalund notching a time of 45.24.
- Nketia came back for more in both the 100m and 200m to bring in 10 more points for USC. He ran a time of 10.18 in the 100m and led a Trojan sweep in the 200m in 20.84. Knox placed second (21.02) and Miller came in third (21.09).
- The women's shot put throwers completed a sweep with Ashley Erasmus leading the group with a throw of 17.38m (57-0.25). Reese Garland placed second (14.85m/48-8.75) and Karyssa Owens threw for third (14.68m/48-2).
- Chase McCallum took the win in the men's 800m in a time of 1:50.20, adding five team points.
- Falyn Lott put up a huge personal-best time in the 400m hurdles to place second 57.56, adding three points to the team total.
- Rachael Uvieghara did the same in women's 200m, recording a new wind-legal personal best of 22.79 and placing second. Brahe-Pedersen placed third in 22.97.
- The women's triple jump squad made big moves in the sand. Lauren Reed took the win with a jump of 12.91m (42-4.25) and Jada Foreman came in second place at 12.83m (42-1.25).
- Elias Gerald got the win over at high jump with a new season best of 2.17m (7-1.5).
- The 4x400m relays closed the day on a high note. The Women of Troy team of Cenci, Mosby, Trepagnier and Mallard secured the last five points in the 93-69 win with a new meet record of 3:29.67. The men followed suit with Wiaan Martin, Jacob Andrews, Knox and Kaalund putting up a time of 3:06.06 to complete the relay sweep.
