USC Women’s Track and Field Earns Two Regional Wins with 12 Entries Headed to NCAA Championships

The Trojans advance 25 total entries to the championships from men and women
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The USC women's track and field team punched their ticket to NCAA Championships in seven events to close out the final day of competition at NCAA West Regionals at John McDonnell Field.
The Trojans took home two women's west regional leading times in the track events. Brianna Selby showed out in the 100m with a new school record of 10.83, breaking TeeTee Terry's previous time of 10.89 from 2021. Selby's time also ranks No. 7 in NCAA history.
The women's 4x100m relay team of Christine Mallard, Dajaz DeFrand, Madison Whyte and Brianna Selby clocked the No. 5 time in program history on their way to the regional championship title as well at 42.54.

- Reese Garland started the day with a national qualifying mark in discus. Her third throw of 56.49m (185-4) secured sixth place to punch her first ticket to Eugene after missing the mark by inches last season.
- Asjah Atkinson started the individual track competition for the day with a qualifying time in the 100m hurdles and a new personal best of 13.05.
- In addition to Selby in the 100m, Dajaz DeFrand clocked a 10.98 time to finish fifth and Mia Brahe-Pedersen came in at 11.08 to snag 11th place.
- Similarly in the 200m, Dajaz DeFrand ran a season-best 22.28 to qualify in the third spot, Christine Mallard earned a new personal best of 22.44 to come in fifth and Rachael Uvieghara achieved her first ticket punch to NCAA Championships in a time of 22.81, finishing ninth.
- In the 400m, Madison Whyte clocked 50.03 on her way to the automatic Q, earning second place in the field.
- The women's 4x400m relay team of Takiya Cenci, Joelle Trepagnier, Madison Mosby and Christine Mallard closed the day in third place, punching their ticket in a season-best time of 3:27.80.
