Aaron Hunkin-Claytor Signs With USC Men's Basketball

The 6-foot-3 guard comes to Los Angeles from the University of Hawai'i.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball has signed University of Hawai'i transfer Aaron Hunkin-Claytor, Head Coach Eric Musselman announced today, May 8.
"We are excited to welcome Aaron to the Trojan Family," Musselman said. "Aaron is a pass-first point guard whose enthusiasm for the game and joy for others' success make him a valued teammate. He is a fierce competitor who takes pride on the defensive end of the floor. Aaron's team-first attitude will be a great addition to USC Basketball."
Hunkin-Claytor spent two seasons with the Rainbow Warriors. As a sophomore, the guard started in 17 games before being sidelined with an injury. In that time, he averaged 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game along with a team-high 3.8 assists per game. He had one of his best games of the season against Arizona State, when he contributed a career-high 18 points while going 7-of-10 from the field. He also contributed a career-high 11 assists against Mississippi Valley State.
As a freshman, Hunkin-Claytor appeared in 29 games, starting in the final 11. He led the Rainbow Warriors in assists with 72 and steals with 21. Over the course of the season, he averaged 3.8 points while shooting at 40 percent from the field. He also finished in double figures three times, including a season-high 11 points against UC Riverside.
Hunkin-Claytor is the third player to sign with the Trojans from the transfer portal, joining Eric Reibe and Joshua Hughes. Hunkin-Claytor will also be added to the roster with returners Rodney Rice, Jacob Cofie and Alijah Arenas, and freshmen Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff and Christian Collins.
