The Women of Troy were chosen to the national academic list for the second time
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The USC women's volleyball team was selected for the AVCA's Team Academic Award, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Thursday, July 23.
The Women of Troy were one of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams to maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). The team's selection is its second all-time—first since 2022—and the second under seventh-year head coach Brad Keller.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
Last fall, USC finished the regular season tied for third in the Big Ten. The Trojans were 25-7 overall with a 15-5 record in the Big Ten and were awarded one of 33 at-large berths—and a hosting bid—into the 2025 NCAA tournament. USC made its fourth straight appearance in the tourney under head coach Brad Keller (41st all-time) and moved into the second round for the fourth consecutive year with a 3-0 sweep of Princeton. The Women of Troy were eliminated from postseason play in a hard-fought five-set loss to Cal Poly in the second round.
