USC Men’s Basketball to Hold Pro Day This Thursday

Over half of NBA teams are sending scouts to the event.
LOS ANGELES — The USC Men's Basketball team will host its first-ever pro day this Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the USC practice facility.
This event, which is the first of its kind under Head Coach Eric Musselman, will feature scouts from over half of the 30 NBA teams watching the Trojans in drills and exercises used in the pre-draft process.
"Pro day is a great vehicle to give visibility to USC players and allow them an opportunity to showcase their game in front of each NBA organization," Musselman said. "Pro day is something we've done at my previous schools. It's a great way to open our doors to NBA teams and allow them access."
"We meet and talk with as many representatives from NBA teams as we can and find out what they would like to see in this setting," Musselman added. "We then tailor-make our practice to fill as many requests as we can from NBA organizations."
Historically, USC has had 65 NBA draft picks. Two players under Musselman have gone on to earn NBA contracts: Saint Thomas (Philadelphia 76ers) and Ezra Ausar (Miami Heat), both of whom earned Exhibit 10 contracts this offseason. This season's roster has had early NBA buzz, highlighted by returners Alijah Arenas and Jacob Cofie — the latter of whom participated in the NBA and G League combines this past spring — and McDonald's All-Americans Christian Collins Adonis and Darius Ratliff.

In 2026-27 the Trojans aim to improve upon last year's 18-14 record with three returners, seven transfers and the No. 5 recruiting class in ESPN's rankings, which is USC's second-best recruiting class since ESPN started tracking that data in 2007. USC has garnered national buzz in the preseason with top-25 in the ESPN (No. 11), Fox Sports (No. 13), CBS/Fanduel's Jon Rothstein (no. 13) and Andy Katz's (No. 17) early rankings.
