THIS SEASON: Santo Condorelli, a career eight-time All-American who swam on an NCAA title winning relay and two conference winners in 2015, is primed for a big final redshirt senior season as one of the NCAA’s top freestyle and butterfly sprinters. He is the second-fastest Trojan ever in the 100y fly (45.79), third-fastest in the 50y free (19.27) and fourth-fastest in the 100y free (41.77). He is part of four USC relay records.
2017: Condorelli was a four-time All-American as a 2017 redshirt junior, highlighted by his tie for fifth in the 100y free at the NCAA Championships with a PR of 41.77. He led off USC’s third-place 400y free relay and then anchored Troy’s fourth-place 400y medley relay and fifth-place 800y free relay as well as the 11th-place 200y medley relay. He just missed another scoring swim, tying for 19th in the 50y free (19.35) … At the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, he was a three-time finalist for the second time, taking fifth in the 50y (19.37) and 100y free (42.94) and seventh in the 100y fly (46.09). He also anchored USC’s school record in the 400y medley relay … Condorelli was a two-time finalist in the 50y and 100y free at the Texas Invitational and won four dual meet races on the year.
2016: Condorelli redshirted as a 2016 junior while training for the Olympics, turning it into a huge year that included an Olympic final and being named Swimming Canada's 2016 Male Swimmer of the Year honor ... Condorelli raced in four events for Canada at the Rio Games, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 100m free (47.88, PR), finishing 0.03 out of third. He reached the semifinals of both the 50m free (21.97, PR 21.83 in prelims) and the 100m fly (51.83, PR), finishing 12th in both events, while also swimming on Canada's 4x100m free relay that finished seventh ... At the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials, he won the 100m free and was second in the 50m free, earning Swimmer of the Meet honors.
2015: Condorelli was a three-time All-American as a 2015 sophomore, swimming on USC's NCAA title winning 400y free relay as well Troy's fifth-place 200y free relay and its sixth-place 200y medley relay. Individually, Condorelli scored three times. He won the 100y free 'B' final in a PR 42.20, was 10th in the 100y fly with a school-record 45.79 and was 16th in the 50y free (19.68) ... At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, he posted a trio of second-places finishes in the 50y (19.29) and 100y free (42.27) and in the 100y fly (45.85). He also swam on USC's Pac-12 title-winning 400y free and medley relays as well as on the second-place 200y medley and free relays ... Competing for Canada at the 2015 World Championships, Condorelli won bronze as part of Canada's mixed 400m free relay that took third in 3:23.59. Condorelli led off with a 48.19. He also swam on Canada's eighth-place 400m free relay and was ninth in the semifinals of the 50m fly (23.30) ... At the Canadian nationals, Condorelli won titles in the 50m and 100m fly and the 100m free. In the 100m free, he was the first Canadian since 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Brent Hayden to go under the 49.0 (48.83) ... He also represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games, winning silver in the 100m free and 400m free relay and bronze in the 100m fly and the 400m medley relay.
2014: Condorelli was a relay participant as a freshman at the 2014 NCAAs and swam on USC's sixth-place 400y free relay ... He was a finalist in the 100y free at the Pac-12s and finished eighth (43.75). He was also 12th in the 50y free (19.75) and 15th in the 100y fly (47.28) ... At the 2014 U.S. Summer Nationals, Condorelli was a two-time `A' finalist in the 100m fly, finishing eighth (53.75), and in the 50m fly, finishing seventh (24.01). He also finished eighth in the `B' final of the 100m free (50.51) and was 22nd in the 50m free (22.67)
HIGH SCHOOL: Condorelli, from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla., broke the Florida state record in the 50y free and clocked the fifth fastest time (19.88) in the event in high school history to win the 2012 Florida state title. Also at the meet he led off The Bolles' 400y free relay with a 43.5, one of three relays that broke national prep records. The other two were the 200y free and medley relays. Condorelli, who raced in the 50m and 100m free and 100m fly at the 2012 Olympic Trials, is also a junior national champion in the 100m free ... At the 2013 U.S. Summer Nationals, he won the `B' final of the 50m free (22.73) and posted three other `B' final finishes, taking second in the 50m fly (24.19), fourth in the 100m fly (53.55) and sixth in the 100m free (50.18) ... Weeks before entering USC, Condorelli broke the 17-18 National Age Group record in the 50m free with a 22.32 at the 2013 U.S. Junior Nationals (though since broken) and also took second in the 100m free and third in the 100m fly (53.11).
