2010: Stephenson returns for his third season as USC's long snapper on all punts as a senior in 2010.
2009: Stephenson spent his second season as USC's long snapper on all punts as a junior in 2009. He also was the short snapper on placekicks in the final 2 games of 2009 (Arizona and Boston College). He was available as a holder on placekicks and to play tight end, but was not called upon in those roles. He appeared in all 13 games in 2009 and made 1 tackle (against UCLA).
2008: Stephenson, a one-time walk-on who earned a scholarship in the spring of 2008, spent his 2008 sophomore season as the long snapper on punts. When short snapper Chris Pousson was sidelined for 5 games (Washington State, Arizona, Washington, California and Stanford), Stephenson also handled the snaps on placekicks and did so without a glitch. He also was available to play tight end.
2007: Stephenson appeared briefly in 3 games (Idaho, Notre Dame and Illinois) in 2007 as a redshirt freshman walk-on reserve tight end, but did not catch a pass. He was also available at fullback. 2006: Stephenson redshirted as a freshman walk-on reserve tight end in 2006, his first year at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was named 2005 All-CIF San Diego first team, All-North County first team, San Diego Union-Tribune All-San Diego first team, All-Palomar League Defensive MVP as a senior linebacker and tight end at Torrey Pines High in San Diego (Calif.). Torrey Pines won the 2003 and 2004 CIF San Diego Division I championships (it was runner-up in 2005) and he was the Defensive MVP of the 2004 game.
PERSONAL: He's a public policy, management and planning major at USC with a B- average (2.79 GPA). His father, Curt, was a 3-year (1975-77) letterman wide receiver at Michigan (the 1976 Wolverine squad lost to USC in the Rose Bowl), where he twice made the Big Ten All-Academic team, and then played with the Buffalo Bills. His cousin, Joe Robles, was placekicker/punter at California.
