BREAKDOWN: Sophomore 6-10, 215-pound forward Boubacar Coulibaly is an athletic bigman who can protect the rim and is a solid scorer inside the paint. He will provide USC with depth on the frontline and fits in nicely with the other Trojan bigs.
2020-21: Coulibaly played in 15 games off the bench, averaging 1.3 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. He made 71.4 percent of his field goal attempts (10-for-14). He made his last six shots of the season, last missing a field goal in the first half on Jan. 14 vs. Washington. He made his collegiate debut vs. Montana on Nov. 28 and scored six points and grabbed a rebound in 5 minutes of action. He had a season-best two blocks vs. Santa Clara on Dec. 29. He scored 4 points and had a rebound and an assist vs. Stanford on March 3. He played in USC’s first three NCAA Tournament games, making his only shot in the win vs. Kansas on March 22.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coulibaly graduated in 2020 from San Gabriel Academy in San Gabriel, Calif. He averaged 25 points and 14 rebounds per game and led San Gabriel Academy to a 22-7 record and the CIF Southern Section 2AA Playoffs where they fell in the second round. He led his time to a win over Oaks Christian with 33 points and 19 rebounds. In an overtime loss to Ribet Academy, he had 23 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks and two steals. Coulibaly, a captain on his SGA team, was ranked the No. 30 center in the country, the No. 24 player in California and the No. 217 overall player in the nation.
