BREAKDOWN: Noah Baumann (BOW-man) is a 6-6, 215-pound junior sharp-shooting guard who transferred to USC from San Jose State with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He sat out the 2019-20 season due to transfer rules. He has a career shooting percentage of 45.7 percent from three-point range.
2019-20: Baumann sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.
2018-19: Baumann was second on San Jose State in scoring with a 10.8 average and started 27 of their 31 games. He made a school-record 81 three-point baskets, while hitting at a 45.5 percent clip (81 for 178) which ranked eighth among all NCAA men’s basketball players. His three-point shooting percentage was the second-best in school history, behind only his 46.0 shooting percentage from three-point range as a freshman. He made at least one three-point basket in each of his last 29 games played, another school record he set at San Jose State. Baumann also made 77.3 percent of his free throws during the season and scored in double figures 14 times with a career high of 29 points vs. Utah State on Jan. 16, 2019. He made a school-record eight three-pointers (8 for 12) and scored 26 points vs. New Mexico on Feb. 27.  He also had two games with seven three-pointers made, Jan. 16 vs. Utah State and March 6 vs. Wyoming. He also scored 27 points vs. Wyoming on March 6, giving him the top three scoring games by a Spartan during the season.
2017-18: Baumann competed in all 30 games, making 17 starts. He averaged 5.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He was SJSU’s most accurate three-point shooter at 46.0 percent (40-for-87) overall and 48.2 percent (27-for-56) during Mountain West play. He scored a season-best 16 points at Colorado State on Feb. 10. He also scored 14 points vs. Colorado State on Dec. 20, going 4-for-5 from three-point range. He had a season-best five rebounds vs. Air Force on Jan. 13 and a season-best five assists vs. UNLV on Jan. 31. Â
HIGH SCHOOL: Baumann graduated from Desert Vista High in Phoenix, Ariz. in 2017. He averaged 10 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists over 23 games during his senior year. He scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Valley Vista to open his senior season. He finished the year with 10 double-digit scoring games including five of 15 or more points.
PERSONAL: Noah was born on January 17, 1999 in Phoenix, Ariz.. His parents are Joe and Kathy Bauman and he has one brother, Nathaniel. Baumann played AAU basketball with Powerhouse Hoops. He is a Health & Human Sciences major at USC.
