FRESHMAN // 2024-25

Big Ten All–Freshman Team
Played in 10 tournaments and started eight of them for the Trojans.
Finished his first year with a stroke average of 72.20, four top-25 and one top-10 placements, 14 rounds of par or better and nine rounds under par.
Tied for second on the team with five rounds in the 60s, and tied the team lead with four eagles.
Counted 23 of his 24 rounds during his freshman year.
At the Trinity Forest Invitational, Buchanan recorded the lowest score by a USC freshman - 12-under par, 204 - since Jamie Lovemark (2017). His second-place finish was the highest finish by a USC freshman since Yuxin Lin (2020).
Earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for his work at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
Posted the second-best score of the team at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, as he was one-under par, tying him for 19th in the field.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Buchanan arrived at Troy with a plethora of international experience as he was the former captain of the South African Junior National Team.
He is currently a member of the South African National Team.
The Team Callaway member has recorded three World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) wins and 11 top-10 finishes.
Buchanan won the 2023 South African Dimension Data Union U19 in July of 2023 going 11-under with scores of 72, 69 and 70.
He clinched the 2023 South African NOMADS National Order of Merit Costal 2 by 7 shots with scores of 68, 65 and 72 in October of 2023.
He won the individual portion of the 2023 All Africa Junior Team Championships in Uganda by 3 shots with scores of 73, 69, 70 and 73 in April of 2023.
As the captain of the Junior National team, he helped his squad win the 2023 SA U-19 IPT Championship.
Buchanan was previously ranked as the top junior in the South Africa (U19), per GolfRSA.
He placed second at the 2024 Junior Orange Bowl International Championship in Miami.

Jack Buchanan was born Jan. 20, 2005, in Cape Town, Western Province, South Africa… parents are Nadya and Giles Buchanan… enjoys watching TV, going to the gym, going to the beach, and traveling… career goal is to win Majors on the PGA Tour… majoring in economics.
