THIS SEASON: Jon Knox, a 2018 senior, has both NCAA Championships and Pac-12 finalist experience and is ready for a big final year at Troy. Knox, part of one of the top backstroke corps in the country, is among USC’s all-time top 10 in the 100y and 200y back.
2017: Knox, as a junior, swam in two events at the 2017 NCAA Championships, taking 26th in the 100y back (46.70) and 33rd in the 200y back (1:43.54) … Knox, at the 2017 Pac-12s, was a two-time B finalist, finishing 10th in the 100y back (46.98), 15th in the 200y back (1:45.90 after a 1:43.21 in prelims) and 23rd in the 50y free (21.13, 20.57 in prelims). Knox’s 46.83 in the 100y back prelim was a PR and made him sixth-fastest ever at USC in the event (at the time).
2016: Knox competed at his first NCAA Championships as a 2016 sophomore, finishing 30th in the 100y back (47.22), 32nd in the 200y back (1:42.59) and 47th in the 50y free (20.46) ... At the Pac-12 Championships, he reached his first conference final, finishing eighth in the 200y back in a PR 1:41.92. He won the Pac-12 consolation final of the 100y back in a PR 47.09 and was 19th in the 200y free (1:37.38, prelims) ... He raced at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 43rd in the 100m back (55.16).
2015: As a 2015 freshman, Knox raced four times as an exhibition swimmer at the Pac-12 Championships in the 50y (20.75, PR) and 200y free (1:37.36, NCAA B) and the 100y (48.18, NCAA B, PR) and 200y back (1:47.22).
HIGH SCHOOL: Knox, who prepped at Analy High in Sebastopo, Calif., owns numerous Sonoma County League records and won a 2014 North Coast section title in the 100y back as a senior while taking third in the 200y free ... He competed in the 2012 and the 2013 U.S. Swimming Junior National Championships ... He was earned the 2013 and 2014 Press Democrat Preps Male Swimmer of the Year honor.

PERSONAL: Knox's father, Ken, was an NCAA relay champion at Tennessee and Indiana while his mother, Linda Knox Stimpson, was USC's first ever individual national champion, winning 1975 titles in the 50y and 100y back ... He is an economics major.
