High School: Kirby prepped at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where, as a senior, he took home first in the 100y back (48.21) and second in the 100y free (44.57) at the 2019 TISCA Tennessee state championship meet ... Before enrolling at USC, he was a finalist in the 100m back at the 2019 Pan Am Games, taking eighth (56.38), and raced in the 50m (48th) and 100m (42nd) back at the 2019 FINA World Championships … He was a two-time finalist as a senior at the NCSA Junior Championships… Kirby, representing his native Barbados, was a four-time champion at the 2018 CARIFTA Swimming Championships in the 50m back (26.27), 100m back (56.59), 100m free (52.14) and 200m back (2:11.64). He was named the 2017 and 2018 Junior Sportman of the Year in Barbados and owns the Barbados record in the 50m back (26.07) … He was also a two-time champion a the 2018 TISCA Tennessee State Championships in the 100y free (44.45) and 100y back (48.23) ... He was a two-time finalist at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships-East. He is a three-time U.S. Open qualifier and a seven-time NISCA All-American.

KIRBY'S PERSONAL RECORDS:
- At Pac-12’s, finished 10th in the 200-yard Backstroke (1:42.59/1:41.63) and 41st in the 50-yard Freestyle (20.25)
2021:
- Provided depth for the Trojans in the backstroke events, racing in two individual events at the Pac-12 Championships.
- At the 2021 Pac-12 Championships, Kirby was eighth in the 100y back (47.16 / 47.56) and 10th in the 200y back (1:41.91 / 1:42.08). He also swam the backstroke leg of both USC’s 200y (fourth – 1:25.62) and 400y medley relays (fourth – 3:07.34).
- Kirby won the 100y back (47.68) and was second in the 200y back (1:44.16) against Utah (Feb. 12-13)
2020:
- Kirby reached a pair of Pac-12 B finals as a 2020 freshman, finishing eighth in the 100y back (47.04) and 11th in the 200y back (1:42.65). He was also 30th in the 50y free (20.37) at Pac-12s.
- Against Arizona Kirby won his first event as a Trojan touching in 1:50.07 to take the 200y back.
- Championed the 100y back in 49.63 against Minnesota.
- Kirby secured his first NCAA B-cut posting a 47.46 in the 100y back at the Art Adamson Invite.
