THIS YEAR: Senior Alitta Boyd ranks fourth all-time by a Trojan female in the triple jump and is just outside the USC top 10 in the long jump. Did her best jumping at the end of last season and hopes to carry that momentum into her senior campaign. 2012: Won the triple jump (41-5.75) and placed third in the long jump (19-7.00) at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 29. Boyd placed fifth (20-4.50) in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump (42-5.25) at the Pac-12 Championships May 12-13. Boyd set PRs in both the long jump and triple jump at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas. Her PR of 43-8.50 (13.32m) was good for third and advanced her to the NCAA Championships in the event. She narrowly missed advancing to the NCAAs in the long jump as she was 13th with a jump of 20-6.50 (6.26), just one position out of advancing to the Championships. Fouled in all three attempts in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships. 2011: Helped lead USC to victory in the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1 by winning the long jump (19-11) and the triple jump (40-7.50). Tied for seventh in the triple jump at the Texas Relays in April with a season-best wind-aided mark of 42-10.75 (13.07m)...She also had a season-best legal jump of 42-5.50 (12.94m) which bettered her sixth-place standing on USC[apos]s all-time list. Placed fifth in the long jump with a season-best of 20-4.50 (6.21m) and fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 42-1.25 (12.83m) at the Pac-10 Championships...The three triple jumpers to edge her out at the conference meet have since graduated. Placed 13th in the long jump and just missed out on advancing to the NCAAs with a best jump of 19-9.50 (6.03m) at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Eugene, Ore...Also placed 27th in the triple jump with one clean mark of 39-7.75 (12.08m). 2010: Boyd placed fifth in both the long jump (19-11.50) and the triple jump (41-7.00) at the Pac-10 Championships. Advanced to the NCAA Qualifying Rounds in both events and placed 15th in each while setting collegiate PRs of 41-11.25 (12.78m) in the triple jump and 20-3.00 (6.17m) in the long jump. Her triple jump moved her into sixth place on USC[apos]s all-time female triple jump list. Boyd won the triple jump at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1 with a leap of 40-8.25 (12.40m) and took second in the long jump with a mark of 19-9.75 (6.04m). High School: Boyd is a 2009 graduate of Moreau Catholic HS in Hayward, Calif. She was a high school All-American as a junior and senior. She was the triple jump national junior champion in 2008 and 2009 and long jump national junior champion in 2009. Won the 2009 triple jump with a leap of 43-8w (13.30m) and the long jump with a mark of 20-7 1/4w (6.28m). The triple jump mark ranks No. 1 all-time under all-conditions for high school. Earned a gold medal in the long jump and a silver medal in the triple jump at the 2009 Pan-Am Games. Has a wind-legal best triple jump of 42-11 3/4 (13.10m). At the 2008 USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships, whe won the triple jump with a mark of 42-0 (12.80m) and place third in the long jump at 19-4 1/4 (5.89m). She lettered four years in track and basketball and all three seasons of playing volleyball. Personal: Alitta was born on July 12, 1991 in Oakland, Calif... Is the daughter of Diane Blackwell, has a sister Dawnn and brothers Biancco and DeJuan...Likes to listen to music at extremely loud levels and to play with her puppy in her spare time...Would like to travel to the moon...Favorite movie is Love and Basketball...Lists her sports hero as her coach from back home, Sylvester Johnson...She is a Communications major at USC and would like to become an entepreneur.
