Bio
THIS YEAR: Senior Viktor Fajoyomi made a successful transition to the decathlon as a junior, registering the fifth-most points in the event ever by a Trojan and only figures to improve. Remains one of USC[apos]s top athletes in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
2013: Tied for third in the high jump at the Trojan Invitational on March 23 by clearing 6-9.75 (2.08m). Set a then legal PR at the same meet by winning the men[apos]s long jump with a leap of 23-8.75 (7.23m). Placed fourth in the 100m dash on the first day of the Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships with a PR-matching time of 11.33. On the same day, he set three more PR[apos]s in the long jump, shot put, and 400m dash with a jump of 24-3.50 (7.40m), a throw of 41-5.25 (12.63m), and a time of 49.83 respectively. Placed fifth in the decathlon with a PR of 7,299 points on the final day of the Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships. That total is the fifth-highest point total ever scored by a Trojan in the multi-events. He became the first Trojan to make the top 10 performers list in the event since 2003, which is the last time a USC athlete has scored at the conference championships in the decathlon. On this same day, he set three more PR[apos]s in the discus throw, pole vault, and the 1500m race with a throw of 115-4 (35.15m), a vault of 12-9.50 (3.90m), and a time of 4:29.80 respectively. He also had a season-best in the javelin with a throw of 150-0 (45.71m). Placed fourth in the long jump at the Pac-12 Championships with a wind-aided jump of 24-4.25 (7.42m) on May 11.
2012: Had a season-best high jump of 6-8.75 (2.05m) to place second at the Dual Meet on April 29. Also placed fifth in the triple jump (46-8.75), 10th in the long jump (20-10.50) and fourth in the javelin throw (159-11), missing out by four feet of scoring in his first attempt at the javelin as a collegian. Posted season best in the triple jump (46-10.25) and long jump (23-1.25) at the Claremont Relays on Feb. 25. Finished 16th in the HJ at the Pac-12 Championships with a clearance of 6-7.0. Also was 21st in the long jump (22-4.25) and fouled out in the triple jump.
2011: Fajoyomi had a season-best high jump of 7-0.25 (2.14m) in winning the competition at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1. Also won the long jump with a wind-aided PR leap of 24-4.50 (7.43m) and took second in the triple jump with a wind-aided leap of 50-1.75 (15.28m). He scored 13 of the 27 points available in the three jump events, more than the entire UCLA team in the events. Fajoyomi was named Pac-12 Male Field Athlete of the Week (April 25-May 1) for his efforts in the Dual Meet. Placed ninth in the HJ (6-11.00), seventh in the TJ (49-6.50) and 17th in the LJ (22-8.50) at the Pac-10s. Tied for 25th at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Oregon with a clearance of 6-7 and did not advance to championships. Had a wind-aided PR of 50-6.25 in the triple jump at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds, but that was only good for 17th and he did not advance.
HIGH SCHOOL: Fajoyomi went to high school at Rákóczi Ferenc KSZKI in Hungary. He was the Hungarian Junior champion in the high jump in 2009 and 2010. Fajoyomi has a career best high jump of 7-1.5 (2.18m) on Dec. 6, 2010 in Budapest, Hungary. He placed 13th in the high jump at the World Juniors in Moncton, CN last year with a clearance of 7-0 (2.14m). Fajoyomi placed 11th at the 2009 European Junior Championships with a clearance of 6-9.5 (2.12m). Has a PR of 23-6.50 (7.18m) in the long jump.
PERSONAL: Fajoyomi was born on March 27, 1991 in Budapest, Hungary. He is an Economics major at USC...His hobbies include music and basketball.
