AT USC:
Anniya Louis begins her second official season as a cross country runner at USC after two seasons of dealing with injuries...2010: Ran her first official cross country race for USC at the Titan Invitational on Oct. 22, placing 22nd with a PR of 18:29.5...competed on the track team in the Spring and had a best 800m time of 2:12.28 at the Mt. SAC Relays, the second-fastest 800m time by a Trojan in 2010. 2009: Sat out her second consecutive season due to injury...Had surgery on her right hip and was forced to sit out both the cross country and track and field seasons...2008: Redshirted due to hip and back problems. Was able to run unattached in the final regular season race at the Fullerton Invitational and set a then PR of 18:48.00 to finish 10th overall and first among Trojans. Was able to run for the track team in the spring and had a season-best 800m time of 2:10.15 at the Occidental Invite on May 9.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Anniya graduated from Culver City High in 2008...She ran both cross country and track and field for the Centaurs...She ranked in the top 20 in the 800m race nationally from 2007-08 and is the CIF Division II record holder in the event...Won the CIF state 800m championship with a time of 2:09.77...Ran a season best of 2:09.38 at the CIF Southern Section master meet which was the seventh-best time by a high school senior...Won the 800m at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational with a time of 2:10.90...Was the 800m champion of the Ocean League with a time of 2:14.69 and also won the 1600m title with a school-record time of 5:04.48, 43 seconds faster than her nearest competition...Had her best 3200m race as a sophomore when ran 13:03.00...her other PRs are 57.54 in the 400m, 2:09.16 in the 800m (winning the 2007 CIF Div. 2 title with a meet record), 19:02.1 in the 2.9 mile cross country course and 19:20 in the 3.1 mile cross country course...Was voted the Culver City High cross country Runner of the Year all four seasons and the Culver City Female Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior...Won the Ocean League cross country finals with a time of 19:26.38 as a senior.
PERSONAL:
Anniya was born on Sept. 3, 1990 in Los Angeles...She helped develop a recycling program at her high school called 'Be Blue, Think Green'...Was named a 2008 California Scholarship Federation Sealbearer...Was an honor roll student all four years in high school and won both the Most Spirited Student Council and Most Committed Awards...Lists her most thrilling moment in sports as going to the California State Meet in 2007 and winning it in 2008, as well as sweeping the 2009 USC-UCLA Dual Meet for the first time in history...Likes to write poetry, swim, karaoke, attend Bible studies and hang out with friends...Came to USC because she saw an opportunity to strengthen herself in all areas of life....Likes Thai and Panamanian food...Would like to visit Panama, Europe, Africa, London, Japan and Hawaii...She is a Psychology major and Theatre minor at USC...Would like to run professionally after graduation...Other career goals are marriage and family counseling, writing and performing....Says her biggest sports heroes are Allyson Felix because she knows where her gift comes from and her high school coaches David, Lew and Tom....Is active in Athletes in Action and is a member of the Saved By Grace gospel choir.
