Ria Vasilyeva enters her second season of competition at USC.
2024-25 FRESHMAN SEASON
• Competed in eight regattas as a true freshman
• Finished first with 1V8+ at UCLA Dual
• Finished first in 1V8+ Petite Final at Big Ten Championships
CLUB/INTERNATIONAL
• Attended Minsk State City Olympic Reserve School (MGGUOR) in Belarus
• Finished third in 1x and second in 4x at 2024 Brics Games
• Finished first in 1x at 2022 62 GMR
• In 2x, finished second at 2021 ERJCH
• Placed second in 8+ at 2020 ERJCH
• Finished first in 1x at all U23 national competitions
• Winner of several poetry competitions
PERSONAL: Viktoryia “Ria” Vasilyeva was born June 21, 2004 in Minsk, Belarus… Daughter of Larysa and Siarhei… Has one sibling, Maxim… Career goal is to be a published author… Enjoys reading and drawing in her free time… Names Belarusian rower Ekaterina Karsten as one of her biggest sports heroes… Like Karsten, she also hopes to be an Olympic champion… Says winning nationals in the single scull as her most thrilling sports moment… Chose to attend USC because of its strong traditions and academics… Majoring in creative writing.
