THIS SEASON: A 2007 senior diver, Kenny Jenkins has made big strides after each season at USC and looks to build on his 2006 NCAA Championships debut.
2006: Jenkins competed at the 2006 NCAA Championships as a junior, his NCAA debut highlighted by a ninth-place finish on platform (291.60). He was also 28th on 1-meter (266.95) and 31st on 3-meter (252.95) ... Jenkins earned his NCAA berth by taking third on platform (613.25 ) at the Zone E Championships ... At the 2006 Pac-10 Championships, Jenkins was second on platform (347.20) and third on both 1-meter (342.55) and 3-meter (352.50).
2005: As a 2005 sophomore, Jenkins was a three-time finalist at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, taking third on 1-meter (291.10), fifth on platform (457.75) and sixth on 3-meter (504.10) ... Jenkins, named USC[apos]s Most Improved Diver at the team banquet, also dived well at the 2005 Zone E Championships, the qualifying competition for the NCAA Championships, posting a second on the platform. But because of the limited number of divers who could advance, Jenkins just missed making the cut.
2004: Jenkins, as a 2004 freshman, competed on all three boards at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, highlighted by a fifth-place mark on platform (441.60). He was also ninth on 1-meter (275.15) and 11th on 3-meter (461.15) ... At the Zone E Championships, Jenkins was sixth on 3-meter (432.00), 12th on platform (268.30) and 15th on 1-meter (433.70).
HIGH SCHOOL: Jenkins prepped at Walter Johnson High in Rockville, Md., where he earned Washington Post All-Metropolitan Athlete honors as a junior and senior in 2002 and 2003 ... He was a Washington Metropolitan Area and Montgomery County title winner from 2001 to 2003 ... He competed at the Junior World Championships in 2000, taking 13th on 3-meter.
PERSONAL: He was born on Feb. 15, 1985 ... He is a psychology major.
