USC broke a 20-20 tie in the first set with 2 unanswered points and Hawaii could not catch up. The Trojans jumped out to a quick 4-1 start in the second set and steadily pulled away. The third set was tied at 9-9 before consecutive Trojan points gave USC the momentum it needed to build a comfortable lead.
The teams play again on Sunday (March 4) in a 1 p.m. MPSF matinee in the Galen Center.
