Abdulghany Leads USC In Northrop Grumman Second Round

Freshman Alyaa Abdulghany carded a 3-over 74 to lead the No. 10 USC women's golf team on a challenging second round at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes (Calif.) G.C. on Monday (Feb. 12).

USC is 13th in the 18-team field at 33-over 601 (295-306) after a 22-over second round.

Abdulghany, one of just three Trojans back from the fall semester lineup, is leading the Trojans at 5-over 147 (73-74), tied for 23rd. Sophomore Allisen Corpuz, the only Trojan on the current roster who played for USC last year, is tied for 42nd at 8-over 150 (73-77).

Head Coach Andrea Gaston's team now features four newcomers who enrolled this spring, including freshman Gabi Ruffels, who is tied for 50th at 9-over 151 (74-77).

Freshman Jennifer Chang (75-78) and fall semester transfer Divya Manthena (75-78) are tied for 58th at 11-over 153 while freshman Amelia Garvey is tied for 64th at 13-over 155 (77-78).
