Smith is 15-8 on the season, with four wins against singles opponents in the top 14. Fellow senior Madison Westby earned placement in the rankings as she secured the No. 102 spot. Westby holds a 10-7 season record and has won three of her last five matches. In doubles, the Trojan tandem of Angela Kulikov and Rianna Valdes broke into the rankings at the No. 46 spot. The duo went 3-0 in the fall and won all of their matches at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic.

San Diego State is coming off a two match losing streak as they fell to BYU 5-2 on Feb. 10, and lost to San Diego 4-2 on Feb. 11. The Aztecs are not ranked in the Oracle/ITA Top 25, and do not have any nationally ranked singles or doubles players.
