
No. 14 USC Men's Volleyball Opens MPSF Play With Home Matches Against Stanford, No. 6 BYU

THE FACTSÂ
The No. 14-ranked USC men's volleyball team (3-7 overall, 0-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), coming off a 3-week road trip and aiming to break out of a 7-match losing skid, plays just its second and third home contests of 2018 when it begins MPSF play by hosting Stanford (2-8, 0-0 MPSF) on Thursday (Feb. 8) and No. 7 BYU (6-4, 0-0 MPSF) on Saturday (Feb. 10). Both matches start at 7 p.m. PT in the Galen Center. The Stanford match will be shown live on Pac-12 Los Angeles, with Kevin Barnett mikeside.Â

RANKINGSÂ
USC is tied for No. 14 in the current AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll. Stanford is not ranked, while BYU is No. 7.Â
OPPONENTSÂ
USC is 63-33 all-time against Stanford and the Trojans won the most recent meeting, a 3-0 home sweep in 2017. Troy trails in its series against BYU, 40-22, and the Cougars have won the past 3 meetings (a sweep at USC in 2017 and a pair of sweeps in Provo in 2016). BYU visits UC San Diego on Thursday (Jan. 8) before facing USC.
