USC Women’s Tennis Drops Match to Pepperdine

The No. 40 USC women's tennis team fell to No. 8 Pepperdine 4-0 in Malibu, Calif. on Tuesday (April 3) in a non-conference match up. With the loss, the Trojans are now 9-7 on the season.
Pepperdine opened up doubles with a win as No. 17 Stefani/Sherif defeated USC's No. 32 Kulikov/Valdes 6-2 on court one. The Waves secured the doubles point when No. 75 Levashova/Milovanovic beat Trojan duo Smith/Weissmann 6-2 on court two. USC entered singles at a one-point deficit.
In singles the Trojans battled, but fell to the Waves. Court six sprinted through their match as Trojan Alexa Corcoleotes fell to Pepperdine's Dzina Milovanovic 6-1, 6-2.
Pepperdine's No. 12 Mayar Sherif defeated USC's Madison Westby 6-3, 6-1 on court three, while No. 25 Luisa Stefani would clinch for the Waves with her win on court one over Trojan No. 35 Gabby Smith 6-2, 6-4.
USC's next action takes the team to Colorado where they will face the Buffs on Friday (April 6) and then Utah to take on the Utes on Sunday (April 8).
