
USC Men's Volleyball Goes To Tennessee To Play In The Off The Block Grow The Game Challenge

THE FACTSÂ
The USC men's volleyball team (2-1 overall, 0-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) travels to Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn., this week to participate in 3 matches against on-the-rise NCAA Division I/II teams in the Off The Block Grow The Game Challenge. USC first faces independent Lincoln Memorial (3-0) on Friday (Jan. 18) at 8 p.m. CT, then meets Barton of the Conference Carolinas (0-2, 0-0 Conference Carolinas) on Saturday (Jan. 19) at 5:30 p.m. CT and finishes by playing Lindenwood of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (0-2, 0-0 MIVA) on Sunday (Jan. 20) at 5:30 p.m. CT. All matches are in the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena. Other teams competing in the tourney are NCAA Division I/II's Grand Canyon, Limestone and Quincy and NAIA's Cumberland, Bluefield and Fontbonne.Â

RANKINGSÂ
USC is not ranked in the current AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll, nor are Lincoln Memorial, Barton and Lindenwood.Â
OPPONENTSÂ
USC has never faced Lincoln Memorial or Barton. The Trojans defeated Lindenwood, 3-1, in 2015 in the teams' only meeting. Barton meets Grand Canyon on Jan. 18 before facing USC, while Lindenwood plays Limestone on Jan. 18 and Grand Canyon on Jan. 19 before facing the Trojans.Â
50TH SEASONÂ
The 2019 season is the 50th of USC men's volleyball. Since 1970, the Trojan program has been among the finest in college: winning 4 NCAA championships, playing in 14 NCAA Final Fours and producing 20 Olympians, 34 All-American first teamers and 7 College Players of the Year.
