Senior Allisen Corpuz fired a 1-under 70, her sixth straight round of par or better and her fifth in a row under par, to lead the No. 3 USC women's golf team during the second round of the 2019 Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday (Oct. 12) at the Stanford (Calif.) G.C.
The Trojans, who won the event last year, are fifth at 1-under 567 (282-285) after a combined 1-over afternoon. Oregon took over the lead at 8-under 560 while Arizona State dropped to second at 5-under 563. Host Stanford is tied with Arizona one shot ahead of USC.
Corpuz carded her fifth consecutive 70 to move into a tie for eighth at 2-under 140 (70-70). She had five birdies on the day including three in a row between 6 and 8.
Junior Alyaa Abdulghany (70-72) and sophomore Malia Nam (70-72) are tied for 12th at par. Abdulghany finished with 17 pars and a bogey on 2. Nam had a pair of birdies and was 1-under before late double bogey on 6.
Junior Amelia Garvey is tied for 22nd at 2-over 144 (73-71) following her five-birdie, four-bogey round while junior Gabriela Ruffels is tied for 33rd at 4-over 146 (72-74).
The field will start Sunday's final round with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
